The Opportunity:

The Group IT Digital and Enterprise Applications team at EBOS Group is in search for a Release Manager to oversee the deployment of SAP and related software applications, their integrations, and supporting infrastructure. This role will involve coordinating changes with various IT services across different teams within EBOS Group. A primary responsibility will be to support a significant transformation program until it transitions to "Business as Usual," while also managing the release of the current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in production and striving for system alignment where feasible. 

Additionally, this position will focus on adhering to the enterprise change process, ensuring the timely rollout of new features, patches, and enhancements while maintaining the organisation's quality standards to minimize disruptions to ongoing business operations.  

What you will do:

  • Oversee the development, management, and execution of SAP S/4 Platforms, including comprehensive deployment and release strategies that encompass scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.   

  • Engage with various stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to facilitate successful releases while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.   

  • Collaborate with functional teams and development managers on the management of the SAP S/4 Landscape, focusing on the utilisation of SAP environments, client strategies, and environment refresh processes.   

  • Manage transport processes for all core SAP components, including the configuration and utilization of Solman/ChaRM, while monitoring the execution of Transport Requests.   

  • Track and report on the status of release activities, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.   

  • Maintain detailed documentation that includes deployment strategies, risk management plans, and insights gained from previous releases.   

  • Ensure adherence to change management protocols and best practices throughout the release lifecycle.   

  • Serve as the main point of contact, providing consistent updates regarding deployment progress, risks, and challenges.  

  • Identify potential risks associated with releases and work to mitigate them, ensuring that contingency plans are in place. 

  • Organize workshops and training sessions to prepare users for upcoming releases.   

  • Conduct evaluations after releases to measure performance and collect feedback for ongoing improvement.   

  • Keep documentation related to release processes current, including release notes and deployment strategies.   

  • Offer training and support to team members on tools and methodologies related to release management.   

  • Stay informed about advancements in SAP technologies and industry trends to refine release management practices.   

  • Lead initiatives aimed at streamlining release processes to enhance efficiency and decrease time to market.   

  • Overall, the role ensures that software releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality, while effectively managing risks and stakeholder expectations.  

What we are looking for:

  • Significant expertise in Service Delivery Management for SAP applications or SAP Project Management. 

  • Comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience in SAP release management, including SAP SolMan, Charm, Cloud ALM functionalities, and transport management. 

  • Proficient in managing a composite SAP S/4 landscape, with a solid understanding of integration methods and tools connecting SAP with third-party systems. 

  • Advanced degree, preferably a Master's, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. 

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in release and delivery management roles, particularly in application delivery within the supply chain sector. 

  • Demonstrated success in overseeing the delivery of technology solutions in a complex supply chain business environment. 

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale SAP S/4 implementations across various modules. 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels. 

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (such as Scrum and Kanban) and project management frameworks (including PMI and PRINCE2) is preferred. 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams. 

  • Proven leadership capabilities, including team development, coaching, and conflict resolution. 

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex systems and identify potential risks or areas for improvement. 

  • Preferably experienced with applications such as Optimisely, Salesforce, Manhattan SCALE, SAP Integration Suite, Mulesoft, Axway MFT, SQL SSRS, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and SuccessFactors.
