We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and collaborative Subject Librarian to work full-time in portfolios encompassing subject responsibilities within the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Arts. The library is a leader in the development of information research and learning skills where Subject Librarians collaborate with library colleagues and academic staff to embed skills development in faculty curricula. This position provides face to face and online information research services and skill development programs and resources for the respective faculties. The position will also work closely with the Research and Learning team in Sir Louis Matheson Library to deliver expert advice to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Library’s Research and Learning Point.
The Library builds outstanding research collections and provides leadership in scholarly communication through research data management and capturing, disseminating and promoting Monash’s research output through the Research Repository and Monash University Publishing. This position manages research collections in specific subject specialisations; provides high level advice to researchers in these fields, in particular good data practice, utilisation of digital technologies in research, and research communication tools and metrics.
Subject librarians have responsibility for a number of disciplinary areas and work closely with academic staff to lead change and further library goals. This role requires teaching expertise, a high degree of experience developing engaging e-learning content, extensive liaison and negotiation with academic staff, and excellent communication and collaboration within respective Library and faculty teams. The role requires flexibility in terms of working hours and travel to other campuses.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
