The Opportunity

Monash University’s External Relations, Development and Alumni (ERDA) division’s primary goals are to initiate, grow and steward strong person-to-person relationships with key stakeholders. You will also support the university's research and education programs, driving partnerships, government relations and donor programs to fund world-changing research and support scholarships for the next generation of elite researchers.

Having grown substantially in size and impact we now seek your high-quality philanthropic expertise and strong relationship management skills to support our development of a strong philanthropic culture at the university through the management of a range of key strategic and enabling functions.

As the successful incumbent you will be responsible for enabling substantial and ongoing philanthropic support as the team continues to build the capabilities and competencies required to enter the campaign phase.

You will work closely with the development management team including the Senior Manager, Campaign and Development Projects to ensure that the front-line fundraising activity, particularly at the major and principal gift level is fully enabled and optimised including ensuring that resources are directed to high-outcome activities.

To truly excel in this role you will have:

  • Substantial strategic and operational experience with the proven ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with a background in professional fundraising 
  • Extensive experience managing staff within a complex organisational environment or Higher Education setting
  • Exceptional communication & collaboration skills with strong influential capabilities
