The Opportunity

Monash University Malaysia is well positioned to take advantage of the University’s many global
research networks and continues with a new wave of appointments to generate research applied to
global and local issues. We are seeking to appoint a Professor in Public Health and Deputy Director
in the South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO). This is an opportunity to drive the future
of SEACO and its Population and Public Health research and education profile, increasing your
standing and shaping the health of the entire community in Segamat.

As well as expanding the profile of Population and Public Health research within SEACO, the
incumbent will also work to draw together and develop related research taking place across the
University, including working with colleagues with expertise in population and data science,
qualitative and educational research, and ultimately improving the health experience in the local
community and the wider population.

This demands strong academic leadership, clear vision, and proven ability to forge connections
across academic, policy, practice and third sector communities to continually build the reputation of
the SEACO, School and University.

With an established research program in the field of Public Health, the successful candidate will
have an international reputation for excellence in healthcare-related education and influencing policy
and practice.
