About the role

The Department of Management and Marketing is committed to actively engaging with business, policy-makers and the professions in the pursuit of relevant and impactful (social and economic as well as academic) research and, where possible, seeks to effectively engage with the University’s Research Focus Areas (RFAs).

The Department of Management and Marketing is one of four departments in La Trobe Business School. Combining high-quality research, teaching and business and community engagement, the Department has strengths in areas including but not limited to, management, human resource management, sport management, organisations, international business, leadership, ethics, diversity, tourism and hospitality and event management.

We are seeking an experienced Associate Professor, with a significant national and international reputation for teaching and research in Sport Management to to prepare and deliver lectures and seminars, conduct workshops, tutorials and/or labs, contribute to the development of the research culture of the School, facilitate links between the School and industry, and participate in administrative and service activities as appropriate.

 

This position will also be expected to foster excellence in teaching and learning in their discipline and across the School. They will provide leadership in developing curriculum and teaching, and in engaging with the community on behalf of the School, and they will undertake and contribute to research.

 

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will possess a PhD in Sport Management (or cognate area).  You wil also be able to demonstrate a strong record of research publication, with evidence of quality and impact. You wil demonstrate effectiveness in curriculum development and teaching in Sport Managemen, with a commitment to excellence in teaching, and a capacity to engage with innovations in cross-campus teaching.   You will have a capacity to supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates and display evidence of capacity to make effective contributions to management and administration at the Department and School level.
