About the role

The Student Wellbeing unit provides a range of strategic, service and program outcomes to the University across specialist counselling, disability, equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing functions. This unit delivers high quality, consistent and equitable services to address the emotional, psychological and physical welfare of University students.

Reporting the manager, Counselling (Regional), you will provide counselling support to students at La Trobe. You will also be responsible for reviewing and maintaining compliance and professional standards, including reporting, contribute to and support the continuous improvement programs. The position will also provide specialist counselling and wellbeing programs for LGBTI students.

Skills & Experience

To be successful you will have:

An accredited tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology with relevant counselling experience, including demonstrated skills in providing brief interventions to clients with a broad range of presenting issues including mental health conditions. Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency or membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers required.
