The Judith Lumley Centre (JLC) is a successful and well recognised multidisciplinary public health research centre in the College of Science, Health and Engineering at La Trobe University.  This position is based in the JLC for mother, infant and family health research in Bundoora.  The Harmony Project is an NHMRC funded study to test a multi-component model of training and resourcing bilingual GPs and their clinical colleagues to identify safely, support, and if appropriate refer patients experiencing family violence.

About the position

This is a four year part-time (40%) position, providing administrative support to ensure the smooth administration of the Harmony trial, as well as liaising with key stakeholders, including family violence services, non-government, government and migrant and refugee community organisations.  You will assist with the recruitment of participating GP clinics and keep accurate records of the process as well as all other administrative duties required for this position.

Skills and Experience

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree or relevant Diploma.
  • High level of competency skills using the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organise own and others’ activities to meet objectives.
  • Experience of/or demonstrated understanding of working with migrant/refugee communities (ideally South Asian communities).
  • South Asian background is desirable but not essential.
