The Role

The Cloud Engineer will be primarily responsible for automating and integrating new cloud services into Tabcorp delivering on our "cloud first" strategy.  The role will drive adoption of public and private cloud services by creating reusable cloud building blocks, automating everything, protecting Tabcorp by having a keen eye for security and working closely with our DevOps teams to provide support and guidance

The Responsibilities

  • Build infrastructure configuration scripts and services from cloud building blocks for repeatable consumption across Tabcorp
  • Protecting Tabcorp assets in the cloud
  • Identifies and evaluates new and existing Cloud offerings (IaaS, Paas & SaaS) in the market, which are suitable for consumption by Tabcorp
  • Coordinates with infrastructure, network and security architects to ensure new cloud services align to (or enhance) existing roadmaps, policies and standards
  • High level of collaboration with Tabcorp's existing Digital team
  • Liaises with external providers to resolve any issues in the functionality and interoperability of cloud applications, cloud-based infrastructure, and other cloud services with existing IT systems
  • Manages the integration of cloud application and infrastructure services into existing IT systems
  • Knowledge sharing, best practices, standardisation and harvesting of lessons learnt
  • Creates and maintains a register of technology services offered in the cloud that Tabcorp has assessed as suitable for consumption
  • Highlight solution compliance to all technical standards and policies including adherence to regulatory, security and audit requirements
  • Champion delivery standards and drive resolution of infrastructure delivery service deficiencies with Cloud service providers

·  Provide appropriate and timely escalations to management where necessary and ensure clear, transparent status is maintained with relevant internal/external stakeholders

The Person

The successful candidate for this role will have extensive experience with cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS), AWS (e.g. Polices, EC2, S3, ELB, Autoscaling, CloudFront) and ideally some experience with Azure although this is not essential.

A good understanding of the benefits of Agile software development and DevOps with demonstrable experience delivering cloud based solutions is required for this roles well as strong scripting skills with more than of the following - Python, Ruby, PHP, Bash, PowerShell, JSON, Node.js or HTML

It is essential that you have strong Linux skills (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) with hands on experience with automation tooling e.g. Puppet, Cloud Formation, Jenkins, Lambda, etc
