Role Snapshot/Role Summary

As a Developer you will work within the Wagering Technology team to create, enhance and maintain wagering systems to deliver agreed business functional and non-functional requirements.

A Developer within Wagering Technology is responsible for:

- Production of well-structured business solutions and programs

- Review documentation and code written by other team members, and contribute to technical specifications and business requirements documents when appropriate.

- Provision of level three support to designated applications and systems.

- Participation in additional technical and business projects and tasks as directed by the Delivery Team Leader.

- Analysis and review of unit and integration testing requirements for operational systems.

 

Our Ideal Person

A Developer is expected to possess the following skills and competencies:

- Min. 3 years application development experience with object oriented PHP, along with some exposure to Java

- Experience with GitHub

- Experience with Agile development process

- Experience in complex computer systems specification and development, such as real time transaction processing systems.

- Demonstrable experience in the design of secure, high performing available applications.

- Planning skills (to identify and evaluate technical and business needs and opportunities).- Ability to follow set plans and work to a schedule.

- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Sound general judgement and action orientation, good problem solving skills in a complex IT environment

- Good general understanding of the IT industry, technology and key IT processes including software development lifecycle, problem, change and configuration management practices

- Demonstrable ability to build trust and be a strong team player

- Computer Science or related IT business degree is desirable

- Desire to learn and grow
