The position requires direct input into monthly expenditure, management reporting, preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, as well as broad analytical tasks across a range of day to day business areas and new business development. The position will also be responsible for liasing with the Australian based operations team to manage all day to day operational finance issues for a complex modern e gaming and sports betting platform.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Partner with Chief Commercial Officer, Sun Bets to provide financial and commercial support to help drive day to day and strategic decision making, as well as improved business performance and efficiency through proactive commercial reporting and analysis
• Preparation of weekly and monthly financial reporting packs, to provide review and analysis for discussion with the Sun Bets management team (weekly) and Steering Committee (monthly). Including (a) monitoring of expenditure against budget & forecast and providing succinct variance analysis and explanations, and (b) ongoing review of turnover and revenue results in relation to budget and forecast
• Contribution to the preparation of the annual Sun Bets operating and capital budgets, including provision of accurate monthly forecasts and full year budgets for turnover and revenue
• Work with marketing, product and BI teams to provide financial and commercial analysis in relation to promotions strategy, market research and new product projects. Including financial and forecasting support to business case and capital requests, and preparation of presentation materials to facilitate decision making discussion
• Support the marketing department and BI team in the accurate review of marketing spend, ensuring the CPA and LTV by campaign are accurately tracked and monitored
• Development & improvement of models for budgeting & forecasting, as well as reporting from Oracle & TM1
• Assisting in half year and full year Audit processes and reporting
• Assist the Finance Manager Wagering & Media with implementation of new or improved procedures within management accounts
• Providing information to and assisting Finance Operations in their monthly processing of journals & reconciliations when necessary
• Work with Finance Operations to ensure correct payment of all partners on revenue share agreements including casino suppliers, games suppliers, data feed providers, affiliates, payment processors and video providers
• Preparation of a range of data and statistics in support of presentations of the half year and full year group results to investors/shareholders.
• Prepare proactive analysis on the performance and intelligence on the UK online gambling market and Sun Bets competitors
• Other ad hoc and project work as required by management

Measures of Performance:

Financial – Sun Bets operating and capital budget KPIs
• Accuracy – forecasting & budgeting of revenue and operating costs, and weekly and monthly financial reporting packs.
• Accuracy / Knowledge - timely and accurate financial and commercial analysis & commentary
• Relationships – internal & external, including regular contact and meetings with the Sun Bets leadership team and operational line managers
• Knowledge – strong understanding of the business drivers and use of this knowledge to assist in commercial and financial decision making across the business
• Customer – Half Year and Year End Audit packages are prepared in line with Corporate & team timetable


Proactive nature with strong operational finance, commercial and analytical skills
• Confidence to work autonomously, with evidence of sound judgement in areas of responsibility
• Understanding of the core drivers of a business, with excellent problem solving skills
• Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to prioritise to ensure deadlines are met, whilst remaining flexible and able to cope with changing environment
• Ability to use MS Excel and PowerPoint to an intermediate / advanced level
• Committed and reliable, with strong integrity

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or equivalent
• Completed professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA) desirable
• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in management accounting, business or commercial support, strategic planning or similar
• Experience with operational finance within the UK online gaming industry preferred
• Strong computer skills – particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
• Be able to travel internationally when required
