Role Summary

Within our Group General Counsel function, the Legal Operations team includes the portfolios of technology, procurement, property, intellectual property and employee relations, as well advising on complex, sensitive and strategic matters and projects.  The Senior Corporate Lawyer, Property is a senior legal role in the Operations teams and acts as our principal legal advisor on property legal matters across the Group.  

The Senior Corporate Lawyer, Property will partner with business stakeholders to devise strategies and execute negotiations and arrangements that enable achievement of the Group’s property-related objectives, providing effective and timely delivery of real estate and other property legal services and advising on all in-house property matters across the business nationally in support of the Group’s retail, media and corporate property portfolio, including all leased and freehold properties and property rights.

Our Ideal Person

  • Degree qualified in Law
  • Admitted as a solicitor in QLD and/or NSW and/or VIC (or taking steps to be admitted)
  • Minimum of 5 years legal experience either in-house or in private practice or other relevant experience
  • Advanced legal skillset and ability to operate largely autonomously
  • Capability to guide and help to develop team members
  • Demonstrated ability to provide commercially focused legal services through strong communication, negotiation, influencing and drafting skills
