Role Snapshot/Role Summary

In the role of Technical Business Analyst, you will act as the key interface between the development teams and the business units across Technology. You will work with stakeholders, end users, developers and testers to propose feasible solutions to effectively meet business requirements.

The broader technology team will be accountable for Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions, with a specific focus on data management, governance, data warehouse architecture, operations, reporting and support.

The role will focus on

  • Obtaining a comprehensive understanding of business needs and strategies around Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
  • Liaising closely with internal customer representatives to provide advice on all aspects of Information Technology that have the potential to impact the business.
  • Driving delivery and iteration planning.
  • Effectively and concisely documenting requirements to the level of technical detail required by developers and testers.
  • Influencing and operating as a genuine trusted advisor throughout technology (and the broader Group).
  • Leading the design and delivery of specific, data-driven, solutions through proactive consulting and advice to business units.
  • Building strong business relationships based on trust and delivery. Maintain and foster relationships with all stakeholders, including those throughout the business unit, across the organisation, and external suppliers and customers.
  • Providing outstanding customer service and experiences, own and act on issues effectively and efficiently. Strive to exceed customer expectations.
  • Promoting and enabling an environment of positivity, self-empowerment, improvement and development.
  • Pro-actively asses identify and manage risks.

Our Ideal Person

To be successful in this role you will have accredited tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, 5+ years’ experience evaluating and documenting business and software requirements to a high level of technical detail.  Experience in a data warehousing and business intelligence environment is extremely advantageous.  You will have expert knowledge of all aspects of system implementation, both in-house and customised package solutions. You will have demonstrated experience in agile ways of working and the ability to drive adoption within a team with knowledge of continuous delivery practices such as CI/CD.
