Role Snapshot/Role Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager Portfolio Delivery and with a dotted line to the GM your role will act as a Subject Matter Expert and UI/UX Technical Specialist for teams across all projects within Gaming Services.  You will plan, design, coordinate and lead execution of high-quality user centred designs, instilling a design culture in the organisation and driving consistency across the Technology business. Following UI/UX best practice you will have the opportunity to mentor and coach our UI/UX staff in trends and emerging technologies.

The role will focus on

  • Providing expert advice and consultancy to software development teams, project teams and delivery teams around user centred design for new platforms
  • Proactively design, implement and improve the UX/UI engagement
  • model in collaboration with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Producing wireframes and visual designs, iterating from quick visual mock-ups through to high fidelity prototypes
  • Coaching and mentoring UI/UX resources across the department
  • Influencing and operating as a genuine trusted advisor throughout technology (and the broader Group)
  • Working with the leadership team, architecture and infrastructure teams to effectively deliver the program of work
  • Encouraging and instilling in the team a culture of customer first, driven by data and analytics, understanding of goals and where value can be added
  • Meeting regularly with your customers, understand their business strategy and needs - build a great relationship based on trust and meeting promises. Share roadmaps and technology risks so that they can understand business impact
  • Promoting and enabling an environment of positivity, self-empowerment/improvement and development

Our Ideal Person

You will have accredited tertiary qualifications in the relevant field, with 7+ years’ work experience within a large commercial environment with a demonstratable portfolio of inspired and innovative UX/UI design work.  Expert knowledge of designing software platforms, with expertise in tools such as Axure, Balsamic, Sketch and Invision for wireframe and prototype creation, Photoshop and/or Sketch for visual design. In addition, you will have demonstratable experience in agile ways of working and the ability to drive adoption within a team.
