Role Snapshot/Role Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer you will act as a senior technical expert, coach and mentor. You will assist delivery teams to discover new and improved ways to build and deliver software and ensure that software installs are completed as scheduled. In addition, you will instil a culture of customer first, driving consistency across the Technology business.

The role will focus on

  • Providing expert advice and consultancy to delivery teams, assisting them to select and apply tools and techniques to build, deploy and configure software systems
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge, provide examples of contemporary approaches, techniques, and technologies used in the building, deployment, and configuration of software and systems
  • Influencing and operating as a genuine trusted advisor throughout technology (and the broader Group)
  • Supporting an environment where agility and continuous improvement is built into work practices
  • Building strong business relationships based on trust and delivery, maintain and foster relationships with all Gaming stakeholders
  • Encouraging and instilling in your team a culture of customer first, driven by data and analytics, understanding of goals and where value can be added
  • Providing outstanding customer service and experiences, own and take-action on issues effectively, efficiently and strive to exceed customer expectations
  • Promoting and enabling an environment of positivity, self-empowerment/improvement and development.

Technically you will have

  • Commercial experience with the MEAN stack, specifically Angular.js 4/5/6 and Node.js and like technologies
  • Solid understanding of microservices design patterns
  • Experience with modern software delivery pipelines and tools
  • As a bonus a working knowledge of Kafka or commercial experience with Kubernetes, Docker and/or AWS services would stand you out from the crowd.

 Our Ideal Person

You will have accredited tertiary qualifications in the relevant field, with 7+ years’ commercial experience in software engineering. Expert knowledge of the full SDLC and methods such as Agile with continuous delivery and continuous Integration will be desirable.  In addition, you will be able to demonstrate how you keep abreast of technology trends and practices.
