How you will contribute

This role sits in the Wagering & Media Tech Engineering team. As a member of the Engineering team, you will work with the Wagering & Media Delivery teams to empower them to efficiently build customer-centric solutions that revolve around Operational Excellence, Performance, Resiliency, Cost and Security.

As a Platform Engineer you will responsible for building and maintaining a frictionless path to production for the Wagering & Media services and applications. At heart, you are a cross functional developer, strive to automate everything, always look at ways of improving and tuning the platform. You take pride in the stability of the platform, quality of our solution, elasticity of our infrastructure and resiliency of our services. You will work closely with the Wagering & Media Engineering team on defining the solution part of the team roadmap from the ideation all the way through to the implementation and support. Such tasks include, building and maintaining new pipelines, test / security / performance framework, managing tools, setting up and maintaining the cloud infrastructure, monitoring the platform stability.

You will be a strong advocate of the DevOps culture, always willing to train and grow the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building and supporting CI/CD solutions in Agile environment.
  • Be a key contributor to the large­scale, high volume and high availability critical systems in Cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Designing and executing automated performance tests to ensure that the application and supporting infrastructure are capable of scaling to meet periods of peak usage
  • Supporting an environment where agility and continuous improvement is built into work practices
  • Leading by example in areas of software development, mentoring new members of the team in our Engineering practices and principles
  • Promoting and enabling an environment of positivity, self-empowerment, improvement and development within the organisation
  • Contributing to the large­scale, high volume and high availability critical systems in one of the major Cloud environments, preferable AWS.
  • Developing and maintaining containers at an enterprise level.

Our ideal person

You will have accredited tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with 1+ years DevOps experience;

  • Designing and building CI/CD solutions in Agile environment.
  • Strong development experience in one or more programming languages such as Ruby, Python, JavaScript etc
  • Strong understanding of the use of containers and orchestration at an enterprise level.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Supporting an environment where agility and continuous improvement is built into work practices
