About Tabcorp Charitable Games

You will be working for the Charitable Games division. Tabcorp Charitable Games is a social enterprise that aims to be one of the largest facilitators of good causes in the Australian community. Through innovative products and technology solutions, Charitable Games supercharges fundraising for charities and sporting clubs, helping them raise more money and improve their service to our community.




Web frontend:

Angular 2 (some migrated to 7)



Groovy (variant of Java), Python, PHP



Swift (for iOS apps)



AWS, using EC2 and RDS along with serverless elements.


Source Control:

Github enterprise (on-prem) and some in CodeCommit (AWS)


Builds CI/CD:

Automated build pipeline using Team City - runs tests then deploys to AWS.



Due to our small size, we’re striving to automate as much as possible. We have an automated testing suite built for our 50-50 product, unit tests on some components, and always adding more automation.




We support several websites with online purchasing capabilities, customer portals along with associated back-end admin portals. We also develop an iOS sales application and remotely manage a fleet of 200+ iPads around the country. The two key products are and - see for more details.


The Setting

The team is growing. Automation is key, and highly valued. This applies not just to the software dev/testing process but we build many internal tools to help our small team manage the games.


Key responsibilities include

  • Ensure repeatable success through use of agreed methodologies, including Agile project management, development and test practices

  • Participate in the design, development, testing and 3rd level support of effective and high-quality solutions

  • Provide on call 24/7 technical support as per team support schedule.

  • Adhere to and support configuration and environment management processes

  • Design, build and constantly improve the path to production making heavy use of automation and orchestration tools and technologies
