Role Snapshot/Role Summary

In the role of a Senior Support Engineer you will provide support for applications, ancillary software and hardware, and other new technology initiatives as they emerge. You will continuously strive for operational excellence, instilling a customer first culture in the organisation and driving consistency across the Technology business.

The role will focus on

  • Providing 1st and 2nd level technical support, focusing on customer service and effective issue resolution. 
  • Analysing and, at times, debug complex technical issues efficiently and accurately to minimise delays in restoration of service.
  • Managing and supporting incidents, troubleshoot and escalate as required.
  • Continuously improving and streamlining processes to reach operational excellence.
  • Owning issues, becoming the driving force behind any assigned investigation and maintain that through to resolution, documenting and educating the team on findings.
  • Striving to be known as one of the "system champions" in application support.


Technical skills required

Must have:

  • AWS – S3 & Redshift
  • SQL
  • Tableau
  • Excel

Nice to have:

  • Cognos
  • Service Now – or similar incident management tool
  • JIRA, Confluence

Our Ideal Person

To be successful in this role you will have Accredited tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, 1+ years’ experience providing application support, supporting transaction based critical enterprise solutions.  You will have experience working with relevant technologies including all aspects of supporting enterprise solutions.

You will have demonstrable experience in building and developing strong relationships across the business and possess expert knowledge of supporting enterprise solutions. The ability to collaborate within a team driving knowledge and continuous improvement delivery practices will ensure your success in this position.
