Role Snapshot

An excellent opportunity for someone to work across our diverse business and focus on minimising the risk of injury or illness to employees, contractors and members of the public impacted by Tabcorp’s operations through maintenance of quality Health and Safety systems and processes.  The role will work closely with key stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team and Board, to champion health and safety initiatives.

How you will contribute

The GM role is part of the People and Culture Leadership team and will have key accountabilities across –

  • Developing and implementing a whole of business H&S strategy and management plan
  • Providing H&S specialist advice and technical support to H&S team and the business and ensuring the integrity of H&S risk management programs
  • Leading and managing the H&S system and performance evaluation process including audit and assurance programs
  • Leading investigations into incidents with a high risk of major injury and capture ‘lessons learnt’
  • Providing injury management support and managing return to work in order to minimise impact on Tabcorp and the employees
  • Managing Workers Compensation Policy renewals nationally and liaise with relevant authorities regarding H&S matters
  • Maintaining organisational learning needs analysis and develop and implementing H&S training program
  • Developing and delivering regular reports to BU Risk and Compliance Committees, Executive Risk Committee, the Board and Remuneration Committee
  • Providing regular reporting as part of the P&C dashboard and other ad hoc requirements
  • Managing and developing a team across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne

Our Ideal Person

We are looking for someone with experience developing and implementing highly effective H&S strategies, frameworks and practices in a medium to large Corporate, as well as experience reporting at Board and Executive level.  You will also have extensive experience managing across functional teams across multiple locations and an understanding or experience working in a highly regulated environment.

Key to your success in this role will be your excellent stakeholder management, leadership and influencing skills, the ability to drive strategy, plus lead innovation and change in a fast-paced environment.
