Role Snapshot/Role Summary

In the role of the Senior Data Warehouse Developer, you will be responsible for the full software life cycle of development of the business’s data warehouse as well as the development of logical, physical data models and ETL processes.

As a senior team member, you will promote design principles and best practices with regard to architecture and techniques. You will lead data-related technical projects for the business across multiple platforms; participate in project planning and the analysis of the business’s data requirements and solutions. The overall mission will be to deliver world-class technology services and solutions.

The role will focus on

  • Agile: Ensuring repeatable success through use of agreed methodologies, including Agile project management, development,  test practices and continuous improvement
  • Design, Strategy & Development: strategic role in defining and developing solutions that support functional and departmental data marts. Provide input into physical database development, data modeling standards, and reviews of database structures- current and impending business projects. Define and support the table schemas and database for new and existing data sources
  • Collaboration: Build strong business relationships based on trust and delivery. Maintain and foster relationships with all Employee UX, Customer & Data stakeholders; across the organization, external suppliers and customers
  • Customer Focus: Provide outstanding customer service and experiences, own and act on issues effectively and efficiently. Strive to exceed customer expectations
  • Culture: Promote and enable an environment of positivity, self-empowerment, improvement and development
  • Automation: promote automation through new tools and techniques
  • Continuous Improvement: challenge the team to improve. Monitor, troubleshoot and develop actionable/lasting solutions
  • Mentoring: take initiative to guide and mentor junior data warehousing personnel and contractors on technical standards and procedural data warehousing principles

Our Ideal Person

To be successful in this role you will have Accredited tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, 5+ years’ experience working with relevant technologies including all aspects of product lifecycle & process development, delivery and support.  You will have demonstrated experience in agile ways of working and the ability to drive adoption within a team, demonstrated knowledge of continuous delivery practices such as CI/CD with solid understanding of BDD for writing and executing test cases.
