The Frontend Design Developer is a unique role responsible for the prototyping of new kinds of user interface designs for HTML5 / Modern Browsers across online, mobiles and tablets. This includes translation of business requirements, low-fidelity sketches or high fidelity concept designs into working UI prototypes. Generating interactive prototypes that exhibit traits of being fast, fluid & responsive by taking advantage of CSS3, HTML5 and modern browser capabilities. Creating adaptive frontend solutions for both high & low performance mobiles and tablets. Applying Design Principles, Mobile First & Responsive Design in an Agile environment.

The ability to thrive and collaborate in a team-oriented, challenging and fast-paced environment, as well as possessing strong communication and relationship management skills is a must. Role located in Melbourne CBD.

Responsibilities:
• Prototyping responsive web based user interfaces for online, mobile & new devices
• Close collaboration with Designers, Developers, Product Management and Delivery teams
• A passion for UI and prototyping new interactions, user interfaces & concepts
• Following user experience vision and applying design principles and design language
• Valuing attention to detail and delivering rich quality, highly refined modern UIs

Experience:

• 4+ years experience as a frontend developer
• Strong frontend development skills especially CSS3, Javascript, HTML5
• Understanding of what makes a web app appear native-like
• Knowledge and understanding of design and development for touch, resolution independence and device independence highly considered
• Experience in generating UIs from business requirements or UI sketches as well as design specifications
• Focus on coding high quality, modern, refined and polished UIs
• Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
• Degree in Computer Science or Multimedia/Design
