The ELC Student Services Advisor is a first point of contact for students studying in ELC Programs. Working under general direction, this position is responsible for providing a range of services to assist international students during key periods of their ELC Program. Providing assistance and support to help students adjust to the cultural and learning environment and to resolve non-academic issues, and communicating to students about all aspects of ELC policies and processes.
As an integral member of the ELC Wellbeing Team and through collaboration with ELC Connections Volunteers, the ELC Student Services Advisor will work with individuals and groups to facilitate positive educational and personal outcomes and enhance student experiences.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
- Knowledge of the Australian tertiary sector and in particular, a well-developed understanding of the issues facing international students.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people to problem solve personal issues and resolve complex situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse language and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in coordinating volunteer and mentoring activities.
