The Opportunity
We have a unique opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior or Graduate Engineer to join our landfill operations team. Reporting to and mentored by industry-leading Engineers, this role will monitor key operational KPIs such as compaction density and daily cover soil usage, while supporting data tracking and reporting through digital tools.
Additionally, the role involves:
- Conducting periodic field checks and collaborating with site supervisors to ensure best practices.
- Maintaining records in line with regulatory and internal compliance standards.
- Utilising digital tools (e.g., Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate) to:
- Track and visualize operational data
- Automate routine reporting
- Assist in building or improving data dashboards and mobile inspection apps
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives for landfill efficiency and environmental performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic to intermediate skills in:
- Power BI (data visualization)
- Power Apps (simple app creation for data input)
- Power Automate / Power Flow (workflow automation)
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to spend time both in the field and in the office.
- An interest in GIS, drones, or other modern monitoring technologies.
- Familiarity with landfill operations, environmental monitoring, or waste management principles (coursework or internship) will be well regarded
