The Coordinator of Assessment is responsible for supporting assessment activities in order to strengthen programs and ensure compliance with WSCUC accreditation standards. The ideal staff will support faculty’s use of an assessment management system for data collection and reporting, updating the assessment website, editing, and helping write reports. The candidate will be assisting faculty with the assessment of student learning pertaining to program learning outcomes, and the assessment of general education, core competencies, and institutional learning outcomes. This position works closely with the Senior Coordinator of Assessment and reports to the Associate Provost for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.


  • Assessment: Assist faculty and other university partners setting up assignments in assessment management systems for purposes of student work evaluation. 
  • Administration: Support the OIE supervisors the calendar for program reviews, general education, and core competencies. Help the OIE supervisors maintain a database describing instructional activities. Support upkeep of the assessment cycles and program review cycles.
  • Accreditation: Edit accreditation-related reports and support compliance with the WSCUC standards with sub-committees: at course and program levels, as well as for general education and core competencies. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s of Art/Science degree from an accredited university. A minimum of one to two years of work experience. The ability to write, edit, and proofread at a level that produces and encourages high quality reports while adhering to deadlines. Adherence to data stewardship and handling of confidential, sensitive, and protected information. Strong oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational and task management skills. Support a culture of data-based decision making. Willingness and capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively with faculty and in team environments. Proficiency in the use of Google Suite, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).

Preferred: Knowledge of higher education, academic curriculum including general education. Survey Software (e.g., Qualtrics). Willingness to learn social science methodologies, WSCUC accreditation requirements, and video conferencing.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: $47,000 - $52,000
