Under the supervision of the Clinic and Medical Director and their designees, the Immunization Compliance Coordinator is a highly skilled health care professional who organizes and coordinates the University’s immunization requirement. The Immunization Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring students comply with required immunizations and testing. This position is considered to be a part of the nursing team and effectively represents the medical office as a knowledgeable resource for immunization policies.
- Coordinates the University's Immunization Compliance Program: Maintains and updates the Electronic Health Record database appropriately. Assists with the clearance and compliance of students in meeting matriculation requirements to ensure compliance with University requirements for attendance. Processes student health records for clearance. Plans, coordinates, and conducts immunization compliance visits. Administers appropriate immunizations. Performs blood draws. Completes all required documents for each visit and submits them into the designated software application within the designated time frame. Serves as a resource for students with regard to the University's immunization requirement. Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to students, parents, and University stakeholders. Evaluates University health requirement policies and processes and makes recommendations to supervisor(s) for changes. Reports communicable diseases to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and works with officials in the event of a communicable disease outbreak. Attends training and in-service sessions to maintain current programmatic policy and procedures and technological information.
- Oversees Vaccine Management: Coordinates vaccine management activities, including ordering vaccines, ensuring vaccines are stored and handled correctly, vaccine inventory tracking, and staff training. Ensures proper storage of vaccines in compliance with standards, maintains record keeping and appointment system, and maintains systems to assure high compliance with state regulation. Supervises entry of vaccine and immunization data to ensure compliance with state regulations and prepares reports as needed for the Los Angeles County Department of Health. Oversees proper vaccine transport (when necessary). Oversees emergency preparations, including plans for ensuring the safety of vaccines during emergencies. Assists with the planning of flu vaccine orders and administration for students. Monitors supplies and orders as needed within clinic guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree, and completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California, OR Graduate of an accredited licensed vocational nurse program, OR Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. Effectively communicate technical, and medical information in an understandable format to students. Exercise cultural competency and respectful consideration in a student population representing diverse cultures. Maintain professionalism, good judgment, and confidentiality. Ability to integrate Christian faith with student development theories and practice. Ability to interact with a variety of people both in-person and on the telephone. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with multiple demands that often occur at the same time. Understand and follow guidelines of HIPAA policy for patient confidentiality. Working knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Google suite applications.
Preferred: A broad range of experience in pediatric, young adult, and travel immunizations, state reporting guidelines, and phlebotomy.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
