Given the expanding MRT network in Singapore and our quest to improve rail reliability in Singapore, our Rolling Stock Project team are looking for more talented individuals to join our team.

You will lead a team in managing the rolling stock contracts for either new MRT lines, additional trains for existing MRT lines, or refurbishment contracts. You will be responsible to ensure the safety, quality, reliability, and the timely delivery of contractors’ works. You will be involved to prepare the tender specification, tender calling and award, design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning of the rolling stock contracts until the trains are delivered and enter revenue service. In addition, you will be required to work closely with the Public Transport Operators (SMRT/SBST) to observe the performance of existing train fleet and propose the necessary enhancements to improve reliability.

You will be the main contact point with various parties such as Public Transport Operators, the rolling stock contractors, system-wide contractors, and other stakeholders including members of the public, during various stages of project execution. You will be required to resolve all the issues that directly or indirectly arise from the rolling stock contracts, throughout the various stages of the projects. You will be in charge to certify the works done, recommending payments, assessing contractors claims/variations, and managing the cash flow of the projects. 

You will have an opportunity to develop expert knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Traction and Braking Systems, Auxiliary power supplies, Bogie, Air Conditioning, and Passenger Information Systems.

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• At least 12 years of experience in large scale project management environment. Experience in Railway projects is preferred
• Good understanding of constraints and interface requirements of civil, electrical and mechanical works. 
• Proven initiative and ability to champion a project from conception to implementation
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills to understand technical rolling stock issues
• Design experience on one or more of the following subsystems: Air Conditioning, Air Supply & Pneumatics, Traction & braking, Electrical Door, Auxiliary Power Supplies, Passenger Information Systems
• Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes in manufacturing is a definite asset
• Frequent overseas travel will be required to supervise rolling stock manufacturing and testing
