Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring that all components in the IT infrastructure (network and systems) are in compliance with the functional and IT security requirements
  • Assist in maintaining a healthy campus’ IT infrastructure by proactively seeks areas to improve and continuously research and evaluate new technologies/methodologies and give recommendation
  • Assist in ensuring smooth IT infrastructure operation and in compliance with policies and SOP
  • Assist in managing IT projects and coordinate with the other parties to guarantee its success
  • Assist in managing vendors for projects and contracts
  • Assist in planning and tracking of projects and budget
  • Manages the training of new support team members on relevant work areas
  • Manages the training of existing team members or users on new software or changes to the IT infrastructure
  • Provide as an escalation level from network & server support team

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification, preferably in Information Technology or a related field
  • At least 4 years of IT experience is preferred
  • A hardworking, dynamic person who takes initiative and able to multi-task and handle diverse portfolios
  • Able to work as a team with applications team, security team, or other stakeholders
  • Strong conceptual understanding on the following areas (preferably with work experience):

    • LAN / WAN / Wireless LAN Networking – Cisco Systems

      • BGP / OSPF routing protocols
      • Cisco Routers and Switches (Catalyst 6500)
      • Lightweight Wireless Access Point and Wireless LAN Controllers
    • Microsoft Servers

      • Windows 2003/2008 (Operating Systems)
      • Active Directory (Directory Services)
      • Rights Management Services (Information protection)
      • Exchange 2007 (Email Service)
      • Office Communications Server (Instant Messaging)
      • System Centre Configuration Manager (Software Distribution)
      • Windows Server Update Services (Patch Management)
    • Server Hardware (rack mountable and blade systems) – HP / IBM
    • Storage System (NAS / SAN) – NetApps
    • Network Firewall - Cisco FWSM, Juniper
    • VPN Servers - Microsoft ISA, Juniper SSL VPN
    • Backup System (Virtual Tape Library, de-duplication, disk-based backup)
    • VMware vSphere (ESX servers)
    • Antivirus System (client-server) – Symantec Endpoint
    • Proxy servers – NetCache / BlueCoat
    • Network Bandwidth Management – BlueCoat PacketShap
