The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. The Forensics Division (FD) of SPF’s Criminal Investigation Department plays an important role in supporting investigation work by uncovering and processing critical evidence to solve criminal cases or traffic incidents.

As a Crime Scene Specialist in the SPF, you will be part of a highly skilled team that processes crime scenes/traffic incidences through thorough analysis and proper documentation.


You will be placed on the Home Team Specialist Scheme, where you will receive on-the-job training on how to process crime scenes.   You need to be independent, meticulous in your work, open-minded and stay calm in stressful situations. You should be a team player to support your supervisor and team in executing all duties expected of the Division.

With the use of specialised equipment, you are responsible for detecting and preserving forensic evidence found at the scenes, dutifully documenting every step to ensure all actions taken are in accordance with proper procedures and fulfils both legal and scientific requirements. There may also be circumstances where you will need to perform duties related to victim identification.

In addition, you will undertake developmental projects, be pro-active and keep abreast with the latest developments in forensic technologies and related equipment.

Last but not least, you must be operationally ready at all times and are required to respond swiftly and perform shift duties.

You will be placed under the Home Team Specialist Scheme.


  • Diploma in Science (Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Nursing or other relevant subjects)
  • Diploma in other disciplines may be considered if you possess experience in photography, multi-media and/or related fields
  • No prior experience in forensics is required as training will be provided
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A valid driving licence will be an advantage. Training will be provided for successful applicants without a valid driving licence.
