At the Ministry of Defence, our mission is to enhance Singapore's peace and security through deterrence and diplomacy, and should these fail, to secure a swift and decisive victory over the aggressor. Our Defence Executive Officers (DXOs), alongside their military counterparts, play critical roles in preserving Singapore's sovereignty and stability.

You conduct research and horizon-scanning of manpower issues and trends, develop manpower strategies to meet future challenges, oversee corporate planning activities, as well as plan international engagement efforts on manpower issues. On this, you engage and work closely with key stakeholders to understand their priorities and concerns. You also plan, organise and coordinate organisational-level events and bilateral exchanges (e.g. on manpower policies and best practices). Your challenge lies in keeping abreast of external human resource developments and MINDEF/SAF’s new requirements, exercising sensitivity when dealing with our stakeholders and international engagements, being able to handle ambiguity due to the complex nature of issues, as well as having good time management of work activities in view of the high tempo and dynamic operating environment.

You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in business development, economics or social sciences. Possession of excellent analytical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills is required. Having prior relevant work experience in research, HR and corporate planning is advantageous. Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
