The mission of the Ministry of Finance (MOF) is to create a better Singapore through finance. The Ministry of Finance is an important central planning agency within the Public Service, serving four key roles:

• As a Steward, we are responsible for the Government’s overall budget and management of reserves

• As an Enabler, we provide resources (funds, products and expertise) to other government agencies for the implementation of national policies and programmes

• As an Integrator, we bring agencies and/or other stakeholders together to achieve whole-of-government outcomes

• As a Catalyst, we seed new ideas and open up new terrain where others have not yet seen the potential for success.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist in the drafting and preparation of the bi-annual Singapore Public Sector Outcomes Review which highlights Singapore’s performance in key areas of national interest. The intern will participate in the conducting of research on public sector topics, preparation and refining of visualisations as well as drafting of key narratives.

The intern will also support the VFM office in the fieldwork for Government programme evaluation. The intern will be expected to engage in data gathering and analysis to assess the programme’s efficiency, effectiveness and economy.

Requirements

  • Keen interest in Public Policy, analysis and data visualisation; and
  • Comfortable in interacting with stakeholders from various agencies as well as members of the public.
