Corporate Communications is a strategic function, central to building HPB’s reputation and achieving the organisation’s goals of engaging Singaporeans to adopt healthy lifestyle habits and achieve behavioural change.


Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, the successful candidate will provide leadership and support in setting the strategic direction for the Health Promotion Board’s efforts to drive advocacy and behavioural change in the population through media relations, public relations and integrated communications.


The key responsibilities of the role include working with the Director, Corporate Communications, to

  • develop and manage external communications strategies to support the organisation’s objectives
  • develop and drive the execution of media engagement initiatives
  • strengthen and enhance HPB’s corporate reputation through the development of stakeholder engagement strategies and plans, identification of thought leadership opportunities and overseeing the management of public feedback
  • ensure integrated communications across HPB’s programmes and activities
  • provide communication counsel to senior management
  • oversee the production of the Board’s annual report publication
  • manage issues and crisis communication
  • oversee the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Communications Division


Job Requirements

The ideal candidate:

  • has a good degree, preferably in Communications or Social Sciences
  • is a seasoned communications professional with 12 to 15 years of experience in a corporate communications or public relations role in a leadership position. Working experience in both the public and private sectors, and the healthcare/promotion industry would be advantageous.
  • has a successful track record of developing and leading communications strategies, and owning their successful execution
  • has a strong understanding of media platforms, an established network of media contacts and a proven ability to identify communication opportunities beyond conventional media
  • is an effective collaborator and negotiator with a strong ability to influence outcomes
  • is a  resourceful leader who can coach and develop a high-performing team towards stretched goals
  • is a high energy individual who is hands-on, result-oriented and self-directed
  • is effectively bilingual with excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
