To Advocate, Connect and Enable
Our mission is to advocate youth interests, connect the youth sector and enable
holistic youth development. We aim to imbue youths with the values and skills to
thrive in a globalised word while keeping a strong Singapore heartbeat. Charting this
exciting mission is the Strategic Planning Office, which develops strategic priorities
and operational strategies to guide the implementation of effective and impactful
youth engagement initiatives.
As a Deputy Director (Strategic Planning Office), you will support the Director in
leading a dynamic and responsive team to align, establish and sustain relationships
and collaborative efforts with diverse internal and external stakeholders in one of
these areas:

1) Strategic Planning and Research:

- Conduct national-level research on youths in Singapore to understand
their key issues and concerns.

- Sense-make the youth pulse to inform formulation of policies and
programmes, and drive greater synergies across whole of NYC.

- Incubate new ideas and develop a robust outcome management
framework to support NYC’s strategic objectives. This includes defining
NYC’s strategic priorities, formulating growth strategies of key initiatives
across whole of NYC, and identifying emerging and new growth areas
for research to deepen understanding on youth issues and concerns.

2) Sector Development and Grant Management:

- Develop a vibrant and dynamic youth sector through strategic
engagements with sector partners on key initiatives and strategic grant

- Conceptualise youth sector development strategies to deepen
understanding of the youth sector landscape, formulate engagement
strategies with relevant stakeholders to support NYC’s growth strategies,
including identifying and increasing engagements with youth
stakeholders and developing key partnerships.

- Refine and conceptualise new grant strategies including review of
funding policies and guidelines to achieve greater impact and ensure
continued relevance of existing funding schemes.

- Good degree or diploma, preferably related to the field of work
- 8 to 10 years of supervisory experience with strong leadership qualities
- Relevant experience will be advantageous
- Excellent writing, communication, analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Possess a macro perspective of issues and an eye for details
- Effective and resourceful team player with good networking skills
- Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment
