You will lead and oversee the department responsible for championing research and innovation efforts in built environment robotics and advanced construction technologies. You will be involved in:

  • Developing strategic research and development (R&D), deployment and commercialisation plans for the built environment.
  • Developing strategic partnerships and collaborating with public agencies, institutes of higher learning (IHLs), research institutes and private organisations both locally and overseas, to enable wider adoption and deployment of integrated robotic solutions and advanced construction technologies in the built environment, particularly the construction sector.
  • Driving and overseeing research, development and deployment of new robotic solutions for adoption in factories producing prefabricated construction products (e.g. Integrated Construction and Prefabrication Hub) and on-site installations especially in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) projects.
  • Driving and overseeing research, development and deployment of advanced construction materials and technologies.
  • Developing and managing R&D programmes and funds.


  • At least an engineering or built environment related degree.
  • At least 10 years of working experience, with at least 3 years of industry-related experience in robotics, automation, materials engineering or other advanced technologies.
  • Experience in planning and managing innovation and R&D programmes.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction related technology, capability development and industry-wide deployment of new technology.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning and organisational abilities.
  • Familiar with emerging technologies beyond construction and has keen interest in R&D
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a highly dynamic environment.

Successful candidates will be offered contract employment. Remuneration shall commensurate with qualification and experience.
