The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre (IMC), and to advance and safeguard Singapore's strategic maritime interests.

MPA is the driving force behind Singapore's port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, Port Regulator, Port Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative.

MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritime ancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development.

As part of a dynamic team that spearheads the development of Singapore‚Äôs maritime sector, you will help to design and implement initiatives to develop Singapore's maritime services industry, and promote Singapore as an International Maritime Centre (IMC) to the international and local maritime community. This involves conceptualising, formulating, developing and implementing suitable policies and strategies, as well as the administration of programmes such as the Maritime Cluster Fund. You will need to work closely with various government agencies to review and implement suitable policies and programmes.  

In addition, you will cultivate and manage business relations with companies in the international and local maritime community. Your clients include maritime service providers such as shipbrokers, banks with maritime portfolio, law firms with maritime portfolio, marine insurers, etc. You will need to research and analyse local and global maritime-related trends and foster close relationships with your clients through engagement sessions, meetings and networking events.

You should be a self-motivated and driven individual, who is resourceful and able to manage multiple projects at the same time. You should also possess strong account management with excellent communication skills to engage both internal and external stakeholders as well as work effectively in teams.

You should possess a good university degree, preferably in the fields of Business, Finance, Maritime Studies or Economics with at least 2 years of working experience. A background in relationship management, business development, and/or incentive programmes administration will be an added advantage.
