The Financial Markets Development Department is looking for self-motivated individuals to be responsible for promoting and developing Singapore as a leading centre for financial market activities. In this position, you will be part of a dynamic team tasked to build the ecosystem to support the growth of the Singapore financial sector. The team’s main objective is to work with financial institutions and other stakeholders to encourage the expansion of financial activities in Singapore. You will be working with the industry and other stakeholders to develop and execute tax policies and strategies to support the growth of the Singapore financial sector. This includes having a good understanding of financial sector activities and products, a sound knowledge of Singapore tax laws, especially those affecting the financial sector, and a strong interest in tax developments globally. You will be providing analysis of global tax changes and how it affects the financial sector, and work closely with other Government agencies to design schemesand other initiatives that will help to grow the financial sector. You will also be providing technical advice on the implementation of tax policies and initiatives to industry practitioners.  


  • Previous training in tax, withat least 5 years’ of working experience in the financial sector, or assisted in a tax advisory role.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Articulate and effective in both verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Meticulous and thorough when overseeing incentive schemes.
  • Strong interest in financial sector developments and strategies of financial institutions.
