The Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), also known as the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, was established as a statutory body in 1968 when the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA) came into effect. Under AMLA, Muis is to advise the President of Singapore on all matters relating to Islam in Singapore.

Muis is a statutory board under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). It seeks to develop a Muslim community with strong Islamic credentials that thrives in the contemporary world, and is an active partner in nation-building. At Muis, we strive to fulfil the values of compassion and inclusiveness. We design and deliver programmes which are targeted to create a community that is a blessing and inspirational to all.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and coordinate Muis' strategic planning and annual planning process
  • Plan and facilitate planning workshops including stakeholder consultation sessions
  • Develop and review organisational performance indicators to reflect ongoing and emergent organisational priorities
  • Facilitate management discussions on overall organisational performance
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of organisational outcome and operational indicators to internal and external stakeholders
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources for various reporting platforms
  • Supervise secretariat for Muis Annual Workplan Seminar
  • Analyze global and local trends and key issues affecting Muslims for inputs to strategic planning and policy reviews

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Degree in any discipline
  • At least 2 years' work experience in related field eg. Project Management
  • Strong interest in socio-religious issues affecting the Muslim community
  • Possesses an analytical mind with a strong ability to sense-make discernible trendlines from a myriad clutter of seemingly unrelated information strands
  • Able to work in thin deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful, able to work autonomously as well as within multiple teams
