Singapore Customs is a government agency under the Ministry of Finance. Re-constituted on 1 April 2003, Singapore Customs is the lead agency on trade facilitation and revenue enforcement matters. It is also responsible for the implementation of customs and trade enforcement measures including those related to Free Trade Agreements and strategic goods.

BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE (USER-STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT)

   

The Networked Trade Platform Office (NTPO) in Singapore Customs is newly set-up to drive the development and implementation of the Networked Trade Platform (NTP) initiatives.  Hosted by Singapore Customs, the NTPO reports directly to the National Trade and Logistics Inter-Agency Steering Committee (NTLSC).  More information on NTP can be found on this link - https://www.customs.gov.sg/about-us/national-single-window/networked-trade-platform

 

Job Description

As a business and industry development executive, your role is to grow the NTP’s user base, identify new commercial opportunities, and engage end-users (and industry) to co-create and develop new solutions that bridge existing market gaps.  

You will also be required to keep abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to management and recommend priorities for user engagement.

The goal of the role is to promote and expand the NTP’s user base across different industry verticals, ranging from traders, to intermediaries that will add value to the Singapore economy and generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth for the NTP.

 

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement user engagement strategies according to NTP’s goals and objectives, aiming to accelerate growth

• Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed engagement plans to adoption targets

• Work with stakeholders, partners and where necessarily independently to engage new and existing users to expand NTP’s user base and deepen their utilisation of the NTP

• Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met, and deepen their usage of NTP

• Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, customer service etc.)

• Monitor the level of utilisation of end-users using key metrics and prepare reports and recommend required strategies and tactics to meet adoption and utilisation targets for NTP

• Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring

 

Requirements

• Has at least 5 years of experience engaging companies and industry bodies to catalyse change management and drive process change

• Relevant experience in designing incentives to drive change, across different segments of the client organisation

• Relevant experience and working knowledge of more than one trade and trade-related industries (e.g. logistics, trade finance, supply chain management, etc)

• Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset

• Able to balance conflicting and competing interests from stakeholders

• A creative strategist with excellent organizational abilities and possess an entrepreneurial mindset with great leadership skills

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

• Knowledge in Business Administration and related disciplines.
