By protecting Singapore's resources from pollution, maintaining a high level of public health and providing timely meteorological information, the NEA endeavours to ensure sustainable development and a quality living environment for present and future generations.

You will be part of the newly formed Engagement and Capability Development branch which has been set up to support NEA’s role as lead planning agency for after-death facilities and services. You will actively engage industry stakeholders, religion organisations, NGOs, VWOs and work with internal and overseas stakeholders and various government agencies to strategise, plan and implement new and various initiatives to raise standards for the funerary service.


Your job responsibilities include:

  • Develop guidelines, codes of conduct, training modules and/or organise workshops with industry and government agencies to share best practices, knowledge, latest developments/trends, workplace safety matters, with the objective to raise standards for funerary service
  • Plan surveys, focus group discussions, engagement sessions with funerary industry including religious leaders as needed e.g. to consult on new options for after-death management/practices, understand the challenges/issues faced by funerary service providers

Job Requirements:

  • At least 5 to 8 years’ of relevant working experience
  • Working experience with statutory boards, VWOs and private sector companies would be an advantage
  • Good writing & communication skills
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people of all levels and able to build winning relationships with partners from within and outside the organisation
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Able to lead, interact and foster team work
  • Mature, independent and resourceful
  • Effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese languages
