Formed on 1 July 2002, the National Environment Agency (NEA) is the leading public organization responsible for improving and sustaining a clean and green environment in Singapore.

The NEA develops and spearheads environmental initiatives and programmes through its partnership with the People, Public and Private sectors. It is committed to motivating every individual to take up environmental ownership and to care for the environment as a way of life.

By protecting Singapore's resources from pollution, maintaining a high level of public health and providing timely meteorological information, the NEA endeavours to ensure sustainable development and a quality living environment for present and future generations.

You will be part of the newly formed Engagement and Capability Development branch which has been set up to support NEA’s role as lead planning agency for after-death facilities and services. You will actively engage industry stakeholders, religion organisations, NGOs, VWOs and work with internal and overseas stakeholders and various government agencies to strategise, plan and implement new and various initiatives to raise standards for the funerary service.

 

Your job responsibilities include:

  • Review/redesign of work processes and introduction of automation, use of artificial intelligence (AI) where possible, including studying overseas practices and working with local researchers to develop new equipment/tools and to pilot new innovations
  • Contribute to inter-agency teams to streamline processes and improve service delivery e.g. post-death administration matters under “Moments of Life” project
  • Carry out horizon scanning
  • Plan study trips and attendance of relevant conferences/exhibitions/ training workshops


Job Requirements:

  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • A team player who is able to multi-task and is keen to learn
  • Good writing & communication skills
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Mature, independent, resourceful and highly self-motivated
  • Effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese languages
