MOH constantly grapples with new challenges brought on by an increasingly globalised world, a rapidly ageing population and rising expectations. MOH’s responses to these challenges include preventing and managing the outbreak of diseases such as SARS and Influenza A (H1N1), designing a healthcare system that delivers care in an integrated and effective manner, growing the capacity and capabilities within the sector, and managing healthcare inflation.

As an MOH officer, you will be involved in formulating and implementing policies that guide Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem. You will work alongside a team with varied skills and backgrounds, but with the common goals of (i) promoting good health and reducing illnesses; (ii) ensuring that Singaporeans have access to good and affordable healthcare; and (iii) pursuing medical excellence. Your work will have far-reaching impact on the health and lives of Singaporeans.


You will conduct risk analysis of on-going and potential public health threats (including communicable diseases, bioterrorism, nuclear radiation, natural disasters, etc.) to Singapore through an effective surveillance system which include analysis of local and overseas data, employment of quantitative and qualitative risk analysis tools, preparation and dissemination of routine and ad-hoc reports on infectious disease situations and public health events in Singapore and globally, as well as revision and development of communication platforms for exchange of relevant information pertaining to public health.


  • Degree in Life Sciences
  • Working experience in public health-related work will be an advantage
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Analytical mindset
  • Meticulous and comfortable in working with proprietary software
  • Excellent organisational and management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and able to "think on his/her feet"
  • Committed to his/her work and be willing to constantly upgrade technological and statistical skills
