The General Counsel is the chief legal advisor to CEO and Senior Management and leads the strategic and tactical legal initiatives of BCA; identifies manages and mitigates all types of legal risks across the organisation; has an in-depth knowledge of how legal issues affect BCA and the industry that BCA regulates; structures and manages BCA’s Legal Department; develops and oversees the changes to legislation under BCA’s purview; manages and oversees the work of external counsel; directly involved in advising CEO on legal implications of complex policy and legislative issues; ensure that the legal competency within the department fulfils BCA’s strategic thrusts.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A law degree [LLB Hons]
  • Advocate and Solicitor of the Singapore Supreme Court

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • At least 15 years combined experience in private practice and as in-house Counsel
  • Must have broad overview and experience in all aspects of the law.
  • Experience in a public agency is preferable

Successful candidates will be offered contract employment. Remuneration shall commensurate with qualification and experience.
