Purpose of job:

Shopping is a key contributor of Singapore’s Tourism Receipts. The officer will be responsible for supporting this pillar of tourism by facilitating/driving key initiatives that would make Singapore’s shopping scene appealing for tourists.


Main Responsibilities:

The scope of work includes the following:

  1. Retail Showcase. The officer in charge will be responsible for managing a retail showcase dedicated to local designers. A multi-faceted project, the officer shall work closely with STB’s appointed Operator to ensure that the showcase is well managed and consumer experience is good. The officer will also be expected to ensure that the showcase is well marketed, interfacing closely with STB’s Marketing Group and Regional Offices to promote the showcase. As this showcase involves other government agencies, the officer will be expected to provide input and coordinate efforts with other agencies in areas that concern the whole development and have an impact on the showcase (for e.g. website, collaborations with other partners).
  2. Key retail concepts/events. To diversify Singapore’s shopping scene, the officer will also be involved in supporting the team in assessing the merits of pre-identified initiatives and seeking approvals. The officer will be responsible for building a case for the projects and prepare materials for approval, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders in the market to drive this portion of the work. Additionally, the officer will also be expected to work with relevant industry stakeholders on key shopping events by reviewing the proposals, influencing the direction where possible, and assessing STB’s involvement/support required.
  3. Other than the (1) and (2), the officer will be required to support the Board in key initiatives that help to deliver key tourism outcome (i.e. drive visitor arrivals and tourism receipts). The officer will be expected to chart strategies and formulate suitable action plans, working across departments within the Board, to achieve this objective. Finally, the officer will also be required to interface with industry stakeholders on a regular basis and facilitate strategic projects proposed by stakeholders that would support tourism outcomes.


Requirements :

  • At least 3 years of working experience
  • Possess excellent project management skills with an eye for detail.
  • Analytical with strong writing skills.
  • Candidate should be a team player with good communication skills and a good command of spoken English.
  • Good business acumen
  • Having worked in the retail industry will be an added advantage.
