The Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), also known as the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, was established as a statutory body in 1968 when the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA) came into effect. Under AMLA, Muis is to advise the President of Singapore on all matters relating to Islam in Singapore.

Muis is a statutory board under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). It seeks to develop a Muslim community with strong Islamic credentials that thrives in the contemporary world, and is an active partner in nation-building. At Muis, we strive to fulfil the values of compassion and inclusiveness. We design and deliver programmes which are targeted to create a community that is a blessing and inspirational to all.


We seek a dynamic individual with a passion for public policy and implementation to serve the Muslim community through the development of the Mosque sector. As part of our team you will be involved in:

  • Formulate, review and implement policies relating to mosque governance and management
  • Prepare policy papers and supplementary materials to present to relevant approving authorities for endorsement of policies formulated and work with a large range of stakeholders among the public, people and private sectors to ensure the successful implementation of these policies
  • Formulate a training and development plan and conduct relevant training as part of the professional development programme for your department ad your staff
  • Manage the communication plan for the sector to ensure effective implementation


  • Candidate should possess a tertiary education in the relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience. preferably with some in the public sector
  • A keen appreciation of Singapore's Muslim Community socio-religious developments
  • Strong analytical, policy writing and presentation skills
  • Good negotiation, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Understand of relevant statutory regulations will be advantageous
  • Good team- player and have relevant experience in leading teams in project management
  • Good track record in cross-organisational collaboration, a record of achievement in system integration, innovation and service excellence is highly advantageous
  • Good interpersonal skills to forge consensus among different stakeholders, strong leadership abilities as well as conviction and energy to push boundaries and encourage change
