Management of used water network in Singapore is key in safeguarding public health and water resources. Used water is also a water resource. By collecting every drop of used water and ensuring every drop is fit for recycling, NEWater is produced as a sustainable source of supply to meet Singapore’s water demand.
 
You will be part of the team responsible to protect this delicate and intrinsically complex network. As an engineer in the Network Management Branch, you will play a key role in operating and maintaining the deep tunnel sewerage system and protecting the public sewerage systems, ensuring that every drop of used water is collected and fit for recycling and safeguard public health and water resources. In the process, you will learn to appreciate the intricacies of the network and partake in an important role towards building up capabilities and resilience of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) and safeguarding the public sewerage system. Your main roles and responsibilities would include:

  • Manage and review work process for operation and maintenance to ensure the reliability and resilience of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS)
  • Plan and implement inspection programmes to protect and ensure effective response, monitoring and surveillance of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS)
  • Manage regulatory framework, legislative instruments, surveillance and enforcement regimes to safeguard public sewerage system
  • Monitor construction projects affecting the public sewerage system through instrumentations implementation and site surveillance program.
  • Analyse construction and operational issues and develop action plans to resolve them
  • Carry out initiatives and explore use of applicable technologies to enhance work processes for operation and maintenance of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) and safeguarding the public sewerage system
  • Manage staff to ensure timely submissions of work report, meeting performance targets and proper record keeping
  • Engage stakeholders to ensure the public sewerage system is safeguarded.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil/Environmental/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Independent, result-oriented and self-driven team player with good communication skills.
