Established in 2001, the Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) vision is to build a nation of healthy people.

We aim to empower residents in Singapore to attain optimal health, increase the quality and years of healthy life, and prevent illnesses, disability and premature death.

To achieve this, HPB drives national health promotion and disease prevention programmes, spearheads health education initiatives and creates a supportive environment in Singapore where healthy lifestyle options are available and accessible for healthy living every day.

The Physical Activity and Weight Management (PAWM) team aims to make the physically-active lifestyle an integral part of Singaporeans' lives. The objective is to encourage more Singaporeans to incorporate sufficient level of physical activity (PA) into their daily lifestyle to improve their health. HPB aims to achieve this by educating local residents & seeding more incidental PA (IPA) and Leisure Time PA (LTPA) programmes.
 
Responsibilities
Reporting to DD (PAWM), Assistant Director Industry & Capability Development under the Leisure Time PA (LTPA) & Weight Management (WM) Department, you are expected to establish a network of industry partners and develop a Physical Activity eco-system to deliver programs to Singaporeans. 
You will manage a small team to:
  • Engage and expand the network of industry partners, especially with fitness service providers to deliver physical activity programs to a wide spectrum of target groups
  • Develop strategies to pilot and experiment different program modes with partners including government agencies to develop programs and initiatives for various target segments
  • Devise funding or program levers to influence on an industry scale for program development, capability building or enhancement
  • Establish framework, benchmark or standards and guidelines to ensure quality physical activity programs are delivered in the market, in areas such as branding, fitness training, safety, audit.
  • Identify and keep abreast of innovative fitness/ exercise or technology trends that can reap health benefits for Singaporeans to sustain their interests for an active and healthy life
  • Responsible for team’s workplans, budget, KPIs, reports, invoices and payment

Requirements
  • Possess relevant qualifications in health-related science, program design & development or related disciplines and at least 10 years of relevant working experience, with a proven track record of results for industry/ capability development or quality standards;
  • Experienced in leadership skills and managing small teams
  • Possess excellent inter-personal skills and emotional intelligence to be able to work within and across teams in a matrix structure
  • Possess good verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Self-starter and possess good problem solving skills
