Job Description:
 
We are seeking experienced, self-driven and committed research scientists to lead and oversee the strategic development of environmental and analytical toxicology at the Environmental Health Institute, where research conducted in a multi-disciplinary environment is translated into evidence-based public health programmes and policies.
 
You will be involved in the setup, operation and maintenance of the chemical laboratory, in accordance with local regulatory requirements, including safety and security. You will be responsible for the operation of ventilation systems in the facility and the maintenance of laboratory equipment such as fume hood, gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. You are expected to work closely with contractors and vendors to ensure works are carried out according to contractual requirements.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in facilities management, science or equivalent 
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in the facilities management of a laboratory. Candidates with sufficient relevant experience may be considered for the Assistant Director role.
  • Experience in setting up a new laboratory and maintenance of laboratory equipment will be advantageous
  • Resourceful, systematic, meticulous with an eye for detail, and ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively with external parties
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
