As an Engineer for the Catchment and Waterways Department’s Marina Barrage Division (Reservoir Operations branch), your main roles and responsibilities would include but not limited to:

  • Manage a multi-generational team to carry out reservoir operations and maintenance.
  • Manage safety, cleanliness and upkeep of the reservoir and pumping station through dealing with maintenance contractors, internal/external agencies and reservoir stakeholders, including procurement of services.
  • Monitor and review reservoir and catchment water quality to recommend appropriate actions, which may require multi-agency involvement.
  • Put up reports on inspections, abnormalities, incidences and rectification works
  • Plan deployment and conduct investigations for enforcement against reservoir related offences.
  • Assess development consultations and provide technical requirements
  • Respond to general feedback on reservoir related matters.
  • Review and apply latest technology and best practices for monitoring and maintenance of reservoir health and safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent  
  • Experience in reservoir maintenance an advantage
  • Independent and excellent team player
  • Candidates with supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills and project management skills
  • Possess excellent analytical abilities to interpret data and carry out appropriate analysis
