The Research and Statistics Department (RSD) provides statistical insights for policy review and formulation through surveys, behavioural studies, application of data science techniques, and environmental horizon scanning.

As an Assistant Director/ Assistant Manager (Research) in the RSD, you will be responsible to provide useful, fresh insights and actionable interventions from both NEA's diverse data sources and from external data sources such as social media, video and text. Your work and output will help shape and influence policy review and formulation to achieve NEA's strategic environmental outcomes. The job offers you an opportunity to work closely with NEA’s policy and operation divisions to build data analytics capability and practice data science in a rich data-owner environment to address a range of business and operational requirements. These would cover data extraction & cleaning; data management & exploration; predictive model building; and strategy formulation.

Job Requirements:

·         Degree in computer science, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, econometrics or related disciplines

·         At least 5 years of working experience, preferably with 2 - 4 years of experience in data analytics, image processing, video analytics, machine learning, computational intelligence and/or data engineering

·         Proficiency in statistical modelling language/tools (Python, R, Scala, SPSS, etc.), and data visualisation techniques (Tableau, Qlikview, D3.js, etc.)

·         Have a passion for applying data science to solving complex problems in environmental issues and curiosity for empirical research and quantitative approaches

·         Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to explain research results simply and logically

·         Experience in domain-specific analytics project will be advantageous
