Join our Agile team to take on the exciting and challenging role of delivering and maintaining a large-scale enterprise web application that comprises public-facing eService and intranet back office application, and to build a product that both provides a delightful user experience, and flexibility to adapt to changes.

As a database specialist, you will design and manage the database’s architecture and modelling strategies to ensure that our database is available, reliable, and scalable. You will work with the application development team to define the application data model and work on tuning and optimising database-related operations. 

What to Expect:

  • Install and configure Oracle Database and associated products
  • Provide operational support including, but not limited to:
    • Ensuring Oracle database patches are performed in accordance to the patch release cycle
    • Reviewing and maintaining database accounts
    • Monitoring and optimising database performance, such as optimising queries, creating indexes, etc.
    • Capacity planning
    • Configuring RMAN backup on database
    • Ensuring Oracle database is hardening in accordance to internal standards 
  • Plan the data-mapping for migration of data from legacy systems to support the project deployment, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of data 
  • Review data-mapping/conversion/integration specs between systems, ensuring appropriate mapping quality and adherence to modelling strategies
  • Provide production support and resolve database related issues, in addition to duty rotations for after-office-hours support
  • Liaise with principal vendors for all software and hardware matters

How to Succeed:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related IT disciplines
  • Relevant working experience in the following:
    • Oracle 11g database or above in an Oracle RAC Active-Active environment (including setting up and managing the environment)
    • PL/SQL scripting
    • ETL and data co-existence technology with legacy systems
  • Expected to acquire domain knowledge to develop and maintain the stored procedures, data masking scripts and data sync script
  • Working experience in the following are added advantages:
    • Oracle 12c 
    • AWS RDS 
    • DB audit and security 
    • Data masking products 
    • Oracle Data Guard
    • Oracle GoldenGate 
    • MS SQL Server
  • Good analytical and communication (written and interpersonal) skills
  • Good team player and meticulous
