Responsibilities
 
As part of the MTI Trade Academy, you will be involved in the formulation and review of policies and processes which allow the Academy to meet MTI officers’ training needs. You will be responsible for assessing training needs as well as planning, designing, organising and evaluating a variety of development and training activities.
 
You will handle the day-to-day operations of the MTI Academy, liaising with trainers, course participants and other training institutes. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will work closely with other programme officers, the Academy’s academic branch and a team of programme assistants who support the smooth operation of the MTI Academy in ensuring that it delivers high quality training in an efficient manner. You will also support the FTA Utilisation Team’s initiatives on outreach activities and events.
 
Beyond training, you will work with the relevant trade policy divisions which formulates Singapore’s foreign economic policy and safeguards Singapore’s economic interests in the international economic arena. This includes: (a)  the formulation and implementing plans to engage countries on the economic front; (b) developing strategies to seize opportunities and address challenges faced by Singapore companies as they venture abroad; and (c) bringing together stake holders ranging from businesses to other ministries and  statutory boards to advance Singapore’s economic interest.  
 
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience, with exposure to economic development and trade matters, and international relations
  • Ability to conceptualise and articulate training programmes and economic policies, and work well strategically and operationally
  • Good writing, analytical and communication skills
  • Strong personal initiative and resourcefulness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with multiple stakeholders at all levels
  • Enjoy a fast paced challenging environment
