Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) was formed in 2008 under the Ministry of Home Affairs to (i) enforce the Casino Control Act; (ii) ensure that the management and operation of casinos in Singapore is and remains free from criminal influence or exploitation; (iii) ensure that gaming in the casinos is conducted honestly; and (iv) contain and control the potential of the casinos to cause harm to minors, vulnerable persons and society at large.

Job Description

As an inspector with the Inspection and Compliance Division, you are responsible for supervising casino operators to ensure compliance with the internal controls standard and other regulatory requirements of the Casino Control Act and its subsidiary legislation. You will report to Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director (Inspection and Compliance) and be part of a team of inspectors who inspect the casinos for regulatory compliance on-site, handle and resolve patron disputes, process regulatory approvals submitted by the casinos, and report any evidence of non-compliance within the casinos.

The Inspection and Compliance Division regulates all aspects of the casino operations and you will be assigned to review operational framework and policies. You will have the opportunity to be posted to other Divisions within the Casino Regulatory Authority to experience other aspects of casino regulatory duties and responsibilities, as part of your development as a regulator.

You will get to interact with people from different walks of life and be at the forefront of Singapore’s casino regulatory regime.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in Accountancy, Economics, Business or Information Technology (IT) related fields. Prior work experience in audit, IT audit and compliance will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Adaptable and able to work under stressful conditions;
  • Prepared to work during weekends and public holidays when required;
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team player in a highly dynamic environment;
  • Meticulous and an eye for details; and
  • High standard of integrity, drive and sense of urgency.
